Common questions about 118.99.78.65
Is this someone's exact address?
No. IP geolocation resolves to the area where the block is registered by Biznet Networks, and can be off by tens of kilometres, or point to a different city entirely for mobile and satellite connections. It is not a street address and should not be treated as one.
Why does 118.99.78.65 show Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia when I'm somewhere else?
Because the location belongs to the network, not to you. If you're on a VPN, a corporate connection or a mobile carrier that routes traffic through a central gateway, the address reflects that gateway.
Can I change it?
Your provider assigns it, so you can't pick it directly. Restarting your router often gets you a new one if your ISP uses dynamic addresses. To control which address websites see, route your traffic through a VPN.
