Free VPN for Ukraine

VPN.lat has free servers in Ukraine. No account, no email, no card, no data cap.

This page will be direct about what doesn't help and clear about what does.

The main audience for this server is the millions of Ukrainians outside the country — in Poland, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic and across Europe — who need to keep reaching their bank, their paperwork and their services. For them a Ukrainian IP isn't a convenience: it's the difference between being able to manage their administrative life and not being able to.

What a Ukrainian IP is for

Banking and paperwork from abroad. The main use by a long way. Ukrainian online banking, like any country's, is suspicious of foreign logins because that's the usual pattern of fraud. From abroad you get verification that never arrives, cut sessions, or no entry at all. With a Ukrainian IP the session looks normal and the task goes through. The same applies to administrative portals, which are fairly digitised and are the route for a great many things.

Television and local content. Broadcast services and local platforms restrict outside the country. With a Ukrainian IP they work again.

Staying in touch. Calls over messaging apps get degraded on many networks because they compete with traditional telephony. With your traffic inside an encrypted tunnel, the operator sees a connection to a server and can't distinguish a call from any other data.

What has to be said honestly about connectivity

We're not going to sell certainties we don't have.

The situation in the country affects network infrastructure, which means the availability and performance of this server may be less stable than others on the list. If a connection doesn't respond, try another location: Poland, Romania, Moldova and Slovakia are the closest. Since it's free, switching costs you nothing.

And the most important thing, which applies anywhere but deserves saying plainly here: a VPN does not work without a network. If there's a power cut or a connectivity outage, there's nothing to encrypt. No application on earth solves that, and anyone promising otherwise is deceiving you.

What a VPN protects, and what it doesn't

What it does:

Your internet provider stops seeing what you visit. It sees an encrypted connection to a server, and nothing else. Not the sites, not the searches, not the apps.

Websites stop seeing your real IP. They see the server's, shared by many users at once.

Public Wi-Fi stops being a problem. Nobody else on the network can read your traffic. This matters particularly for anyone living in temporary accommodation, reception centres or shared housing, where the network belongs to everyone.

And on our side: we keep no activity logs. There's no history of your connections for anyone to request, because we don't create one.

What it doesn't do:

It doesn't make you anonymous once you log in. Open your email or your social accounts and those services know exactly who you are. The IP changes; your account doesn't.

It doesn't clear cookies or browser fingerprints.

It doesn't protect you from downloading something malicious. It encrypts the road; it doesn't inspect the traffic on it.

It doesn't work without a network. Said above, and it's the most important line on this page.

Public Wi-Fi and shared networks

On the Wi-Fi at temporary accommodation, a station, a reception centre, a café or a library, anyone else connected is in a position to see a good deal of your traffic, and an open network can be misconfigured or simply fake.

If you're about to open your bank, your email or anything with a password from a network that isn't yours, turn the VPN on first. This is the least arguable thing a VPN does.

And if your problem is the reverse — your European bank blocking you for coming from a Ukrainian IP, or the other way round — whichever country's server you need is in the same app and also free.
